A dragon can be generated from a prompt. A plausible dracology has to be developed from evidence, competing explanations, and the world states those explanations imply.

Start with observations rather than a finished dragon ontology: cold conditions reduce appetite, fish are flambéed before consumption, adult dragons feed on marine biomass, and morphology varies widely between regions. Saganode can connect these observations to hypotheses without prematurely turning any one explanation into canon.

Build theories that can be tested

The same evidence may support several competing models:

  • Dragons are a natural evolutionary lineage.
  • Dragons were engineered through artificial selection or modification.
