The master is a natural boundary. It is where narrative planning and generation meet a finished visual source. Beyond it, the work becomes post-production: assembling a timeline, adding sound, captions, branding, colour treatment, alternate framing, and delivery settings.
What Narrative Intelligence contributes before the boundary
A visually impressive clip can still be wrong for the story. The character may know something too early, the location may contradict established world logic, or the image may emphasize a detail that weakens the scene. Trying to absorb every editing and publishing task into the narrative system would couple stable story knowledge to changing channel requirements. A new social format, caption convention, or delivery specification could then distort the source plan.
The master creates a clean handoff. Upstream, creators shape connected story context and visual intent. Downstream, editors shape timing, sound, finishing, versions, and distribution. Both stages remain creative, but each can use tools designed for its own decisions.
